Journeys is a new project which provides workshops in a range of activities from street art to archery.
At the first taster you will be able to try an activity to see if you enjoy it. If you do then you can take part in a longer course in your chosen activity.
If you find something that interests you then you can sign up for the full experience. Once you’ve completed a set of sessions you can reflect on what you have gained, feedback your thoughts – and then try something else.
‘So what’s next?’ is a special open event being held by John Ruskin College and Croydon’s Integrated Youth Support Service (IYSS) on 25 May 2012 at John Ruskin College from 1pm – 4pm. The event is for current year 11 students and young people aged 16-19 who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
This ground breaking initiative provides a single place for young people and their families to access a wide range of services including youth workers, the police, educational welfare officers, voluntary services, social workers and health advice.
The Croydon Turnaround Centre is operated by Croydon Council in partnership with a range of expert agencies to provide support services for the benefit of the young people of Croydon.
LIFT are working with Iranian Theatre director Hamid Pourazari to create an incredible new show which will be performed in a central Croydon multi-storey car park this summer. Hamid is looking for South London residents who want to get involved as performers, musicians, dancers, helpers, stewards, set dressers and tea makers; in fact, anyone who really wants to be part of a fantastic theatrical experience. The event will showcase everything that’s amazing about Croydon and the people who live here. It’s an opportunity to meet other local people and have an experience to never forget.
The aim of a BIG youth council meeting is to bring together all parts of the youth council as well as young people from schools, colleges and other groups.
